With the new year already one month in and everyone thinking about their health...here are a few recommended things to do in the yoga world.....
-Look up Yoga Pass (there is a variety of classes for good prices and you will be sure to find a studio or private teacher which suits you best)
- Spirit Festival, Byron/ Mullumbimby
17th- 19th February http://www.spiritfestival.com.au/
(Mark Whitwell is teaching, wonderful teacher and venue)
-Notice boards are a great way when travelling to a new town to find unique teachers and places to practice. For example, Byron Bay has a lot of small studios beside homes. Great teachers and the venues are unique and quiet. Definately a touch of love and personal care is present.
There is also some wonderful retreats happening this year..
- I recommend of coarse as my first choice, India! Satvik Sadan...the place I trained and felt bliss. www.thesatvik.com
-An upcoming donation festival called the Bodhi festival is well appreciated. List your name for a ticket at http://www.bodhifestival.com.au/
- I have not been here but I have heard good reports www.billabongretreat.com.au
So there we have a few places to go and enjoy..and share.
See you at the Bodhi Festival and the Spirit Festivals soon.

With Winter here at our doorsteps, "Yoga by Candlelight" continues to provide a loving yoga environment for people of all ages. Having spent our summer evenings practising yoga on a wooden veranda platform over Sydney Harbour with candles and live musicians, now it is time to take this authentic location to a new level.
With sponsers on board such as "Visions in Style" and "Niteguide" a special winter season lasting 6 weeks will see the area turned into a warm 'Winter Chalet'. With indoor heating, draping and the authentic and earthly feeling of wood and water, you will not know you are in the city of Sydney.
We have artists like Vanessa Forbes performing and Speeches from Elina, "The Art of being Sexy".
Keep posted for our Event Dates soon to be launched!

A country which prays for what we receive....
With the flood waters continuing to appear in our recent weather patterns, I hope to add a positive outlook to what we see and know as inconvenient or even 'disastrous.'
With the natural fertilisers of the silt, or as we call it mud, the land is refreshed with minerals and vitamins of natural substance.
Silt exists normally deposited at the bottom of a waters body, a mix between sand and clay derived from soil or rock.
Many studies world wide show the advantages of silt for crop growth this organic fertiliser far excels our usual chemical alternatives.
Silt has advantages in moisture conservation, water holding capacity as well as increasing the aeration and porosity of the soil for better root growth.
In India, a well established farming land, they are looking at the silt advantages logistically but also practice a spiritual ceremony named 'Agnihotra'. 'Agnihotra', is where offerings are made into a fire at sunrise and sunset. The ceremony is believed to help balance the cycle of nature and nourish the human life.
In other words...the ceremony is a prayer to the gods to nourish our land, to provide us with food to eat.
I know in life we can loose our material objects or homes we have worked so hard for but the cycle of mother nature is truly beautiful and natural is always best, lets not forget.
We share and send our thoughts to all of the people who experience floods.
I hope you will also share the positive thought....Thank you Mother Nature for nourishing our land......their prayers have been heard in our country!
Leana
